Whether you are learning your first serve or preparing for competitive play, start with a clear goal. Tell an instructor your experience, preferred location and what you want to improve. Ask how the lesson will be organized and what feedback you will receive.

What to ask an instructor
Ask about current qualifications, experience with your level, group size, lesson duration and total cost. Confirm whether court hire and equipment are included. For group lessons, ask how much individual feedback each player receives.
Private lesson or group clinic?
A private session can focus on your own goals; a group clinic offers chances to practise with others. Ask for the planned topic rather than choosing by a coach’s playing rating alone. Beginners can request an introduction covering court positioning, scoring and basic shot practice.
Would you prefer instruction in Filipino?
Ask which languages the coach offers; do not assume from a name or photograph. Coaches can include English, Filipino or other supported languages in their listing, alongside their service area and a current booking link.
